As pressures of daily life increase, people are increasingly gravitating toward ancient approaches to cope with modern life. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an extensively-researched methodology used worldwide to alleviate chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and trauma. As an effective means of healing diverse symptoms of suffering, it holds many parallels to yoga and meditation.
Developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979, MBSR is used not only to alleviate chronic issues, but also day-to-day stresses. Described as a moment-to-moment process of non-judgmental awareness, MBSR’s foundational roots are grounded in meditation and everyday mindfulness.
Within the Sivananda Yoga tradition, there are many parallels supporting the effectiveness of meditation, positive thinking, and body awareness in calming the mind, improving health, and reducing suffering. Using the core principles of MBSR and Sivananda Yoga, it is possible for everyone to improve their personal well-being.
Offered as 2 satsangs and 2 workshops (subject to change)
